Early Learning Ce
Children ’ s brains and bodies develop rapidly in the first five years of life . This means early childhood is the best time to create a stronger future for families and the community .
Fresno Unified School District serves a diverse population of children and families with various needs . Some district families with young children have a need for childcare that extends beyond the traditional school day and school year . The district supports this family need through the FUSD Early Learning Centers .
FUSD Early Learning Centers offer full-day , full-year early care and education programs for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old . These programs provide child-centered , nurturing , and engaging high-quality early learning environments that are aligned with other early learning offerings in the district .
Early Learning Center programs are tailored to meet the needs of families who are employed , seeking employment or attending school or training programs by offering extended hours and extended days . Early Learning Centers are open 7 a . m . to 5:30 p . m . on weekdays , serving children and families through traditional school year breaks , including over the summer months .
These full-day , full-year programs support families in the community by providing consistency and continuity of care for their young children .
