Stearns sees a bright future for Julissa , who she taught in kindergarten and first grade .

“ I really think Julissa is incredible and will go far ,” she said .

Along with CoderGirlz clubs , Fresno Unified also offers CoderClubs and ChicazCodificadoraz at 10 schools throughout the district , with about 120 students participating . The district ’ s Information Technology Department is working with teachers to exceed the 22 clubs it had prior to COVID .
