About Johnathan : It was a creative spark that lit Johnathan Nhim ’ s path through life and brought him comfort in solitude . He spent his high school years distant from his peers but has always been close to his family . While his single father is at work , Johnathan is often the caretaker of the house , looking after his younger siblings by cooking for them , helping with homework and giving advice . However , this level of maturity and guidance came at the expense of pursuing extracurricular activities such as sports or clubs .

Despite the sacrifice , Johnathan wasn ’ t bothered by not having the chance to make close friends on campus , because he always had hobbies he loved and was able to thrive through his creativity . He enjoys writing music and playing guitar and piano ; these are the ways he expresses the feelings he doesn ’ t normally show people .
Johnathan is most motivated by picturing his ideal future and what he wants for himself , visualizing his goals increases his drive to achieve . A career in psychology doesn ’ t feel like just something he wants to try ; it feels like a calling . One day he hopes to help people turn things around when they feel like they have no control over their lives .
He ’ ll be putting his scholarship funds toward college tuition , housing and gas .
