Her mother , Edison High School theater teacher Bianca Ankrum , remembers thinking , “ Well , that ’ s done .”

Zelia , then in seventh grade , hunkered down at home with online learning , her community theater involvement also canceled .

It was a great day when Zelia got the call that production of “ Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion ” was back on . She filmed 16 episodes in New Orleans from July 2021 to January 2022 . Although the show aired its last episode in

November , it will hopefully lead to more parts .

Cosette in The Children ’ s Musical Theaterworks production of “ Les Misérables ” in July .

“ Since she started at Bullard last year , Zelia ’ s talent has been very apparent because she is truly a student of acting , as an actress and a student ,” said Bullard theater teacher Marc Gonzalez . “ Her participation and dedication to all aspects of theater at Bullard , which now include being an actress , crew member and student director , have provided a wellrounded exposure to the amount of commitment and talented ability she has .

“ I ’ m super excited to see where her future takes off after delivering such a great character for Disney , and I ’ m very glad more people get to see just how talented and wonderful Zelia is as an actress .”

For now , she is happy to be a sophomore at Bullard High .

“ I ’ m trying to live out a normal high school life , not fail chemistry ,” she laughed .

Zelia , 15 , played the “ annoying daughter ” in Bullard ’ s production of “ Harvey ” in February .

She co-directed an improv show with senior Mallory Ketcheside at Bullard last fall and played
